Simplified Butterfly Foundation Paper Pieced Quilt Pattern
This butterfly is a simplified version my oldest and best selling pattern. Unfortunately, the original pattern was beginning to show its age, so I have updated it. The butterfly has been cleaned up so that the wings are symmetrical and the trickier pieces have been altered to make them easier to sew.
The pattern also contains all of the following features:
Templates are included for three sizes of butterflies- 12 inch, 10 inch and 6 inch.
There is the option to give the butterfly wing tails or no wing tails.
A variety of diagrams and colouring sheets are included.
There is a key and symbols are used to help with fabric placement.
The critical join points are marked on the templates, making them easier to sew together accurately.
All templates include a 1/4 inch seam allowance.
A knowledge of foundation paper piecing technique is assumed, but a few tips and tricks are included.
As always with my patterns, there are no nasty y-seams to manoeuvre.
Familiarity with foundation paper piecing is assumed. The pattern contains tips and trick for successful piecing, but does not include a full foundation paper piecing tutorial.
