This foundation paper pieced quilt pattern contains the templates for an 8x6 inch penguin chick and a 12x9 inch penguin chick.
The 8x6 inch version of the pattern contains some small pieces and should be considered an intermediate level pattern.
Knowledge of basic paper piecing technique is assumed as the pattern does not contain instructions on how to paper piece. It does, however, include the following information:
1. Fabric requirements
2. Tips and tricks on how to sew the pattern pieces together accurately
3. Instructions on how to resize the pattern
4. Instructions on how to transform the blocks into 8x8 inch and 12x12 inch blocks.
5. A colour diagram
6. A colouring sheet
7. Paper templates with 1/4 inch seam allowances
The pattern does not contain any y-seams.
The penguin chick can be incorporated in baby quilts, cushions, pillows, table runners and a large variety of other projects. It would also be a suitable decoration for the outside of a tote bag and the small penguin would be great as decoration on an e-reader case.
