Added to cart

This pattern bundle contains four foundation paper pieced penguin quilt patterns as well as some suggestions as to how the combine the patterns in quilt projects. Growing up in Edinburgh, I used to visit Edinburgh Zoo fairly regularly and the highlight of every trip to the zoo was always the Penguins Parade. The story goes that the parade started in 1951 when a gate was accidentally left open and a gentoo penguin escaped. The keeper decided to see what would happen and it was followed by other penguins in single file to the front of the Zoo. I don't think that I was the only Edinburgh school child who developed a love for penguins after enthusiastically watching the penguin parade!

The penguins included in the bundle are the Emperor Penguin, Yellow Eyed Penguin, Little Blue Penguin and a Penguin Chick. Also included is a cheat sheet with a few tips on how to combine the patterns.

The patterns include:

  • Colour diagrams
  • Colouring sheets
  • Fabric Requirements
  • Instructions on how to resize the block
  • Left and right facing templates (for all patterns except the chick) which all come with symbols to help with fabric placement and 1/4 inch seam allowances.
